So everyone's talking New Year's resolution, but who's talking about the when, the how, the now?

Now that we’ve had a week and then some to acknowledge and ‘believe’ that we’re really in 2020, lets jump right in to today’s Single Word Sunday. So it’s a new decade and with this comes the all-expected excitement and newfound inspiration to do things differently, and get it right. Whether it’s the goal of starting a business, getting in the gym or improving our vocabulary, we are urged to take a stand and change the way we do things. And granted, we all (at one point or another) will give into the hype. So much so, the cliché response to making a new years resolution is that’ll last no longer than 2 weeks. And though this is the expected response year in year out, the least you can do (differently this year) is to write it down and make it plain. And I say this because, from personal experience, the reason I never keep to whatever it is that are working towards, is due to a lack of a goal. And while I have …

Single Word Sunday – Gratitude

I’ve had a change of heart this past month, and it’s been with me focusing on gratitude. And granted, this isn’t the first time I’ve thought about being grateful, but I did notice a simple yet significant difference between gratefulness and ungratefulness. This includes the seemingly mundane things which we often consider the default …

Single Word Sunday – Stand

Stand firm. Stand strong. Stand boldly. As far as experience goes, if there is one thing I am now coming to terms with, it is the need to stand. And to do so, with boldness. Too often, I think we shrink ourselves in fear of standing up, or even standing tall.    As if, in a world with a levelled playing field, standing tall and appreciating the fact you rightfully occupy space is more of an offence than if you were to shrivel yourself to fit in with the status quo. Let’s change the MO Well, I don’t know about you, but I for one feel like it’s about time that MO comes to an end.  Growing up, i was always one of the tallest. Not of the girls alone, or among the boys, but in general. And though I can’t say I was always the ‘tallest’, I am grateful for never wishing away my height or ‘wishing I were shorter’ – I embraced (and continue to embrace) my feet and inches in all their …
